The results from Devon's 9mo. follow up MRI are in!!
Devon's spine continues to be stable, meaning there is NO CHANGE in the 'areas of concern' (which indicates it is NOT live cancer cells) no scar tissue or other growths of any kind.
The neuro surgeon stated that Devon IS the best case of ALL of his patients with ependymomas. He is still just astounded at Devon's recovery and the fact that he ate TACO'S only 3 days after surgery! then he walked in only 10, these were both VERY unexpected for what he had been through.
The doctor is confident now having several consistent MRIs with the same results to extend his observation time out to every 6 months, making his next MRI come in July. He also told Jason and Sarah that their son is now considered an Ependymoma SURVIVOR!!

HOW COOL IS THAT???
PRAISE THE LORD!!

Thanks once again to EVERYONE for supporting and continuing to pray for Devon and our family. We don't know where we'd be right now without all our friends and the ALMIGHTY GOD to lead the way!

GOD BLESS!

Devon had his 6month follow-up MRI on September 22, 2009.  The results were provided today:  They are still seeing spots or 'areas of concern' up and down his spine, however they are becoming harder and harder to see.  The doctors used the word DIMINISHING to describe the outcome this time.  Devon will remain treatment free and in school for at least another 3 months until his next round of tests.  Devon will turn 6 this month on OCTOBER 13th! And he is thoroughly enjoying going to school!  Prayer works!!  Please continue to pray for Devon and his family!

Devon had the follow-up MRI yesterday.  Here are the results:  The "area of concern" on his lower spine still remains, however in these last three months is has remained UNCHANGED!  The doctors were shocked!  That's the power of prayer folks!  They recommend that he continue to be monitored closely for the next 3 months before beginning any treatments.  He should be having another spinal tap within the next two weeks, and I will update the page as I have more information.  Thank you all for your continued prayers.  Come out to the benefit this Saturday Upcoming Events )and help us in celebrating this wonderful news!  God Bless You All ~Kristy

We have recieved confirmation this week that Devon's MRI has been moved up 5 weeks, to June 9th.  This is such a blessing to us all, and exactly what we've all been waiting to hear.  We've also been told that we will recieve same day results on this test!  Devon is currently scheduled to begin treatment the following Monday June 15, 2009.  We ask that you please continue to pray for Devon and his family as we begin to move forward with this next round.  God Bless ~ Kristy
